April 2020 Sewing Plans

I’ve put together a little wish list of what I’m planning to make this month, I think it could be a nice series that I would create every month to gather my thoughts on what I’d like to sew! And then of course see at the end of the month if I even sew any of these 😉

Cami Top – Ogden Cami

I’ve been thinking of making an Ogden Cami for a while now and I love wearing simple, thin strappy tops tucked into a pair of jeans. The pattern by True Bias is a cult classic amongst the sewing community because of it’s easy construction and easy wearing vibe. It has a lovely v-neck neckline at the front and back and has delicate spaghetti straps. I’m hoping to make this in a black viscose – but if it turns out well I’ll be making many more of these in lots of colours!

Midi Dress – Lois Dress

Midi dresses are everywhere at the moment and I love the idea of wearing one underneath a jacket, it feels perfect for spring and summer. The Lois Dress by Tessuti Patterns is such a staple midi dress with a deep v-neck bodice and a gorgeous A-line skirt that falls to a midi length. I’d like to make this version of a midi dress because this pattern comes with cuffed arm bands and feels easy wearing with an invisible zip.

Biker Jacket – Chip Jacket

Last on my list, is to hopefully sew up a Chip Jacket by Colette Patterns. The pattern has all the features of a biker / moto jacket with a knitwear twist. I really like this design because of it’s more relaxed fit and I’ll be making this up in a soft Ponte knit fabric. I’m feeling quite intimidated by this pattern as it has separating metal zipper and metal snaps, which sounds like a challenge! But apparently it’s for intermediate sewists – so we’ll see how that turns out!
